Did you know that aromatherapy is a relatively new term when compared to how long the actual practice of using aromatherapy oils has been around? It is true. The word “aromatherapy” was not coined until the 1920’s. It has long been thought that aromatherapy essential oils could be used to heal the body and spirit.

Ancient cultures across the globe have all used massage techniques and aromatic flowers or herbs to help people. Tinctures and teas made from certain plants and herbs were considered invaluable medicines in their time. It is funny how the word came about from sheer coincidence.

During the 1920’s, a French chemist by the name of Rene Maurice Gattefosse was researching essential oils. He was trying to discover the properties of these oils and their use in healing. Quite by accident, Gattefosse burned his arm by catching it aflame. He quickly submerged his hand in a nearby vat of liquid, which just so happened to be lavender oil.

What did he discover? He discovered that the burn was soothed quickly and later realized that the healing time of the burn had been dramatically decreased. He began labeling this essential oil with the term “aromatherapy” due to its therapeutic qualities. As well, he wrote several books on the topic.

Aromatherapy oils have long been known to the world. Using them may not have been called “aromatherapy,” but they have been used for their medicinal properties for quite some time. Take for example Jasmine. Jasmine is a popular tea that is supposed to have calming effects on the mind and body.

It is still put into tea as well as being used for massage aromatherapy. Lavender, as illustrated above with Gattefosse discovering its healing properties, is used heavily in it for its soothing qualities. Vanilla is another soothing type of essential oil used quite frequently, and as you may know, it is used quite a lot in baking.

Aromatherapy oils can be used in a few different ways. You can inhale them through aerial diffusion or direct inhalation. You can have them placed on your skin or you can ingest the essential oil through an oral application, such as tea.

If one method does not seem to work for you, then try another method or combine a few to get the desired results. You should look into using essential oils for aromatherapy in your life. You may be surprised at how great you can feel when there is no stress building up in your neck and shoulder muscles.

A whole world of information about aromatherapy oils eagerly awaits you from Mike Selvon portal. We appreciate your feedback at our massage blog.

Want To Better Understand Cellulite? Check This Out

There are many people who deal with cellulite on a daily basis. Despite this, cellulite is a common issue, and many people don't know what they can do to rid themselves of it. This article will give you some good advice to help you with this kind of a problem.

In order to reduce cellulite, you should drink plenty of water. Water helps flush your body of toxins which accumulate in your body and create cellulite. Water also keeps your skin hydrated, giving a smoother appearance to your skin. Avoid drinks like coffee, tea and alcohol which can dehydrate you.

As you probably already know, cellulite is fat. If you are carrying excess weight on your body, this may be the reason why you have cellulite. One way to remedy this problem is by engaging in some form of physical exercise several times each week. Some excellent choices are swimming, running, jogging, walking and yoga.

Realize that cellulite doesn't mean you have to lose weight, or that you are not healthy. The majority of women have some amount of stubborn cellulite. Don't feel ashamed or unattractive, because cellulite is a very common experience for so many women.

Despite claims made by different products, there's no way to magically get rid of cellulite in a short amount of time. However, you can camouflage your cellulite. On darker skin tones, cellulite is less noticeable. If your skin is light-toned, apply a self-tanner before going to the beach or pool in your new bathing suit. The dimpling of your skin won't be so noticeable.

Use moisturizer daily. While moisturizer won't all of a sudden cure you from cellulite, what it will do is plump up your skin and make it look healthier. It'll hydrate you, and that leads to less of that cellulite being seen when you are out in public. Try moisturizing twice a day, once right after a shower.

You can improve the appearance of cellulite by using a loofah and vigorously scrubbing at the area of concern. This will reduce the lumpy appearance and restore blood flow to the area. This will help, especially when paired with exercises that target the areas of unwanted cellulite on your body.

To improve the appearance of cellulite, use a good anti-cellulite cream that has phosphodiesterase inhibitors listed as part of the ingredients. With daily use you should see a decrease in the dimpling that accompanies cellulite. You can realistically expect to see the difference after about 6 weeks of continuous use.

Do you want to get rid of cellulite in a way that has lasting results? Massaging the problem areas can really help. No matter how you approach it, you'll get effective results.

Diet to lose weight. This is an obvious one, but still needs to be stated. Cellulite is essentially cured by getting into better shape and a healthier weight. It may mean a complete change in how you approach your food, but it can really be worth it to look your best.

Scrubbing can help you get rid of cellulite. No, you can't actually scrub the cellulite away but the scrubbing on the areas of cellulite has many benefits. It will help to smooth the area and reduce the appearance of cellulite. Plus it will also help boost blood flow to the area.

If you have dark skin and bronzer doesn't show up well on your legs, use body oil on the front of your thighs to draw the eye away from the cellulite on the back. Everyone is like a little bird, their eye drawn to bright and shiny things, so use it to your advantage.

When it comes to combating any fat, cardio is your best friend. When you exercise, be it riding a bike, going for a swim or hitting the gym, you're burning fat. The more fat you burn, the tighter your body will become. To get rid of cellulite, boost your heart rate!

If there are areas on your body that you are not happy with, massage them. Massaging areas with cellulite a couple of times a day can help. This increases the blood flow in the area, thickening the skin and making cellulite less prominent.

In order to keep your whole family cellulite-free, get them out and exercising with you. The harder you work out, the more fat you burn, and this will smooth out your problem areas. If your family is involved, you'll have motivation not to skip a session, ensuring you achieve your goals.

To stop cellulite from ever appearing, you need to get your protein. To create elastin and collagen, you need protein in your body. That doesn't mean you should start scarfing down some bacon! Enjoy lean meats, fish, nuts and no fat dairy products instead to ensure you don't pack on the pounds, too.

Now that you know more about cellulite, you can get rid of yours! Some methods will work better than others, but doing research and trying some out can help you find the ones that work best for you. Hopefully, cellulite will soon be a distant memory for you.
